§ 94.40 BACKFILLING; RESTORATION.
No additional or further charge other than the permit fee shall be required for any cut or excavation in any unimproved street, alley, or public easement, provided, however, that the applicant shall be required to backfill the trench or opening therein with the same material as that of the street, alley, or public easement itself, by filling and tamping the refilled trench thoroughly and maintaining its surface, which has been disturbed, in a smooth and uniform condition for a period of four weeks after traffic is permitted to pass over the filled trench or opening. Backfilling the opening with well-graded gravel shall remove the requirement of tamping.
