§ 30.02 GOVERNING OFFICERS.
   (A)   The city shall be governed by an elected officer who shall be called Mayor and by elected legislative body members who shall be called City Commissioners and which together shall be known as the City Commission and by such other officers and employees as may be provided for by statute or city ordinance. (KRS 83A.140(2))
    (B)   The City Commission shall be composed of the Mayor and four Commissioners. An ordinance amending the number of Commission members shall be:
      (1)   Enacted and filed with the County Clerk of any county or counties in which the city is located by no later than the first Wednesday after the first Monday in November of the year preceding the year in which the legislative offices will appear on the ballot; and
      (2)   Crafted in such a manner that the amended number of Commission members becomes effective on January 1 of the year following the election of the number of Commission members specified in the amending ordinance.
