2-9-3: ORGANIZATION:
   (A)   Members of the advisory commission shall serve two (2) year terms. Two (2) year terms shall be renewed by the recreation and community services commission for their member who continues to represent the commission. At large members may reapply for successive terms. Should a vacancy occur on the advisory commission for any reason, the vacancy shall be filled for the unexpired term by the representative's group (recreation and community services commission) or in the case of the at large member by recommendation and approval of the city council. From within its members, the advisory commission shall elect for a term of one year a chairperson and vice chairperson. Elections shall be held annually at the scheduled July annual meeting. Prior to any scheduled meeting, either regular or special session, it is the responsibility of each member to notify either the chairperson or city staff of possible nonattendance at the meetings. Upon accrual of two (2) nonexcused absences within the term of two (2) years, a member may be requested to appear before the officers of this advisory commission to survey the incumbent's ability to serve on the advisory commission. If it is found the incumbent is committed to serve, the matter shall be dismissed. Upon a third nonexcused absence within a two (2) year term, a member shall be deemed to have resigned.
   (B)   Any member may resign by giving written notice of said member's resignation to the advisory commission or commission chairperson. The resignation shall take effect at the time specified in such notice. The acceptance of such notice shall not be necessary to make it effective.
   (C)   Subsections (A) and (B) of this section are in addition to the provisions of chapter 8 of this title. Any conflict between provisions shall be controlled by said chapter 8 of this title. (Ord. 2004-8, 10-4-2004)
