§ 31.17 CHIEF OF POLICE.
   The Board of Trustees may appoint a Chief of Police who shall enforce this code and have such other powers, duties and functions as may be prescribed by the laws of the state or the ordinances of the town. The Chief of Police may appoint police officers as he or she deems necessary, subject to the approval and confirmation of the Board of Trustees.
