7-1-3: TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNS, SIGNALS AND DEVICES:
   A.   Manual Adopted: The "Manual On Uniform Traffic Control Devices", 1988 edition, as approved by the federal highway administrator and as adopted by the Oklahoma state department of transportation, is adopted and incorporated as currently approved, or as subsequently amended. (2003 Code § 17-1-2)
   B.   Compliance Required: All traffic control signs, signals and devices and other highway and street markings shall conform to the "Manual On Uniform Traffic Control Devices", as approved by the federal highway administrator and as adopted by the Oklahoma state department of transportation.
   C.   Uniformity; Official Devices: All signs and signals required hereunder for a particular purpose shall, so far as practicable, be uniform as to type and location throughout the town. All traffic control devices so erected and not inconsistent with the provisions of this title shall be official traffic control devices.
   D.   Authorization:
      1.   The town administrator, subject to such direction as the council may give by motion or resolution, may direct that appropriate traffic/pedestrian control signs/devices be placed on streets or parts of streets indicating the desired action given by council.
      2.   Public notice of new traffic control signs/devices will be done by publication in the local newspaper and/or electronic media.
