Real estate may be purchased when deemed necessary or convenient for the public good by an affirmative vote of two-thirds of the members elect of the Council. Real estate may be sold or leased when not required for corporate purposes upon the affirmative vote of two-thirds of the members elect of the Council. Sales of real estate, excepting the sale of public parks, shall be subject to the requirements of § 34.03 of this chapter, unless the Village Council elects by an affirmative vote of two-thirds of the members of the Village Council to sell the real estate at private sale, determining that the public interest would be best served by private sale. The notice inviting bids shall contain a brief description of the property, in addition to the information specified in § 34.03(B) of this chapter. Public parks shall not be sold without first obtaining the consent of the majority of the qualified electors of the village.
