§ 33.071 RADIO EQUIPMENT REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT FUND; JAIL MEDICAL EXPENSES FUND.
   (A)   A.C.A. § 21-6-307(a)(15) authorizes the Sheriff of a county to collect a fee as authorized by state statute for taking and entering every bail or delivery of bond. The statute states that 75% of all fees collected by the Sheriff shall be paid to the County Treasury in a manner provided by law and that 25% of all fees collected by the Sheriff shall be used by the Sheriff to establish a special fund to be known as the “Radio Equipment Repair and Replacement Fund.”
   (B)   The 75% of the $10 fee which would normally be deposited to County General Fund is hereby authorized to be earmarked and shall be accounted for as a line item in the General Fund entitled “Jail Medical Expenses Fund.”
   (C)   It shall be the intent of this section to provide that the 75% of the $10 fee authorized pursuant to A.C.A. § 21-6-307(a)(15) be earmarked for appropriation to offset medical expenses incurred in the treatment of prisoners housed in the county detention center.
