It shall be unlawful for any person to own, maintain, keep, or harbor any dog within the city without first procuring a license therefor as prescribed by state law. Application for a license shall be made as provided by law and shall state the breed, sex, age, color, and markings of the dog, and the name and address of the applicant and the last known previous owner. A violation of this section shall be a misdemeanor.
