§ 32.024 BOARD OF HEALTH.
   The Mayor, with the consent of a majority of the Council, shall appoint the Board of Health. The Board of Health shall consist of five members: The Mayor, who shall be Chairperson; a physician, who shall be Medical Advisor; the Chief of Police, who shall be Secretary and Quarantine Officer; the President of the Council, and one other member. A majority of such Board shall constitute a quorum and the Board of Health shall have the power to designate health nuisances and to recommend to the City Council of the City of Schuyler, Nebraska, that it authorize and institute proper proceedings for the abatement of same. Such recommendations of the Board of Health for additional ordinances and for proceedings to abate health nuisances by the City Council shall include all matters of health and safety of the city, which shall include but not be limited to the power to enforce same, and to provide fines and punishments for the violation thereof. The Board of Health shall have the power, when authorized by separate ordinance of the city, to take appropriate action to suppress nuisances and to enforce all laws of the state and this Municipal Code and all other ordinances of the city relating to matters of health and sanitation in the city. The members of the Board shall serve, without compensation, a one-year term of office, unless reappointed, and shall reorganize at the first meeting each year. It shall be the duty of the Secretary to keep the full and correct minutes and records of all meetings and to file the same with the Municipal Clerk where they shall be available for public inspection at any reasonable time. The Board of Health shall be funded by the Governing Body of the City of Schuyler, Nebraska, from time to time out of the general fund. The Board shall meet at times as they determine or as determined by the Governing Body. Special meetings may be held upon the call of the Chairperson, or any two members of the Board.
