(A) The appointive offices of Municipal Clerk and Municipal Treasurer are hereby combined and merged, in accordance with the authority granted to the City Council of the City of Schuyler, Nebraska, in § 31.21.
(B) The offices so merged and combined shall always be construed to be separate, and the effect of the combination, or merger, shall be limited to a consolidation of official duties only.
(C) The salary of the officer holding the merged offices shall not be in excess of the maximum amount provided by law for the salary of the offices so combined.
