§ 113.144 BOND.
   The bond to be filed by the applicant shall be in the sum of $2,500, with such sureties as the Mayor and Council may require and approve, conditioned for the payment of any damages sustained by the city or anyone else resulting from the moving of any building or parts thereof over and across any street within the city. The bond may be sued upon by any person or the city for recovery of any damages resulting from the moving of any building or part thereof under supervision of the principal or principals of the bond, or their agents or employees. In the moving of a building of less than 600 square feet, the Building Inspector may, in lieu of bond, require the building mover to post a certified check in the amount deemed necessary to guarantee performance, and to pay for any damage or expense resulting from the moving of any building or part thereof, and sufficient to render the city being saved from any liability or expense. Said amount less the amount as may be deducted for expense or damage to the city shall be returned to the building mover within 30 days from the date of completion of the project.
