§ 95.05 INSPECTION.
   (A)   Because of the age of the structures in the Central Business District (CBD) as defined by the Zoning Code of the city and because of the close proximity of the structures in said zone, the City Council finds that the prevention of fire or other hazard in said zone is of particular importance and necessity.
   (B)   The Fire Chief of the Schuyler Rural Fire District #3, or a Fire Department member designated by the Chief, and the City Building Inspector shall inspect every structure located in the CBD Central Business District Zone at least one time annually. They shall inspect for potential fire sources to prevent fires, other hazards, building code violations and zoning violations. If any violations should be found, the Fire Chief and the Building Inspector shall exercise all powers granted to them under the City Code.
   (C)   These inspections shall take place at reasonable times and hours. To the extent reasonably possible, they shall take place in the presence of either the structure's owner, lessee or tenant or other occupant. Structures used as single-family dwellings shall be exempt from these inspections.
