§ 90.50 DANGEROUS OR POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS DOGS; IMPOUNDMENT.
   Any dog that has been determined to be a dangerous dog or a potentially dangerous dog that bites a human being without provocation shall be immediately impounded by any city law enforcement officer or Animal Control Officer. The owner shall be responsible for the reasonable costs incurred for the care of such impounded dangerous dog and the dog may be destroyed upon determination by the court. The city may require the owner of such dog. prior to expiration of ten days after the date of impoundment, to pay an amount sufficient to pay all reasonable expenses incurred in caring and providing for such impounded dog, including estimate medical care, for 30 days, inclusive of the date on which the dog was impounded. If such payment is not made prior to expiration of such 10-day period, the dog shall become the property of the city to be disposed of as the city deems appropriate. Such payment shall be required for each succeeding 30-day period. If any such payment is not made prior to the end of each succeeding 30-day, the dog shall become the property of the city to be disposed of as deems appropriate.
