§ 71.01 REGISTRATION; OPERATOR AND VEHICLE LICENSE.
   No person shall operate any motor vehicle upon any street or public highway without having first registered the same, or without first having obtained a motor vehicle operator’s license as provided by the laws of the State of Nebraska, and the vehicle shall have the registration number plates, furnished by the state or county, displayed upon the vehicle in the manner and place provided by the laws of the State of Nebraska. It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle upon any street or alley during the period that his or her operator’s license has been revoked or cancelled. Nothing herein shall be construed to prohibit operating of vehicles under any special permit issued under the laws of the state.
