(A) Unless provision to the contrary is made in this Code for a given license, all annual business licenses shall terminate at 12:00 a.m. on June 1 of each year.
(B) The Village Clerk shall mail to every licensee of the Village a statement of the time of expiration of the license held by the licensee, if an annual one, three weeks before the date of the expiration, provided that failure to send out the notice or failure of the licensee to receive the notice shall not excuse the licensee from a failure to obtain a new license or a renewal thereof, nor shall it be a defense in an action for operating without a license.
