There is hereby established the office of Food Sanitarian. The Food Sanitarian shall be appointed by the Village President with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees. The Food Sanitarian must be an individual meeting the requirements of the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation for the position of "Licensed Environmental Health Practitioner" for the purpose of inspecting the preparation, storage, and sale of edible foodstuffs to the general population. The Food Sanitarian shall hold office at the pleasure of the Village President and shall be compensated at such salary as shall be determined from time to time by the President and Board of Trustees. In all matters, the Food Sanitarian shall be under the supervision of the Department of Community Development and Health Authority and shall perform such other duties as directed.
