All presently existing nonconforming illuminated signs, electronic message signs, flashing signs, animated signs, and linear lighting signs may continue to be used for a period of three (3) months from May 1, 2020. No structural alterations may thereafter be made, and the said nonconforming signs or structures shall be brought into conformity, which may include removal or relocation before August l, 2020. The same amortization period is provided for signs which become nonconforming as a result of a zoning change or through annexation.
