(A) The foregoing intersections are hereby designated as stop intersections, and every driver of a vehicle shall stop at the entrances to the intersections indicated as follows, respectively, before entering the crosswalk on the near side of the intersection or in the event there is no crosswalk, shall stop at a clearly marked stop line, but if none, at the point nearest the intersecting roadway where the driver has a view of approaching traffic on the intersecting highway before entering the intersection:

(B) The Police Chief hereby is authorized and directed to locate and install on the streets at the approximate corners of the intersections in division (A) above proper signs bearing the word “Stop” in letters not less than six inches high. The stop signs shall be located as near as practicable to the nearest lines of the crosswalk on the near side of the intersection, or if there is no crosswalk, then as close as practicable to the nearest line of the intersecting roadway.
(C) At entrances to intersections enumerated above, where a stop sign is required from all four directions, each of the stop signs shall have attached thereto a smaller sign bearing the words “Four-Way-Stop.”
