§ 32.34 BUREAU TO INVESTIGATE FIRES AND REPORT.
   (A)   The Bureau of Fire Prevention shall investigate the cause, origin and circumstance of every fire occurring in the Village by which property has been destroyed or damaged, and so far as possible, shall determine whether the fire is the result of carelessness or design.
      (1)   The investigations shall begin immediately upon the occurrence of fire and, if it appears to the officer making the investigation that the fires are of suspicious origin, the Department Director shall be notified immediately of the fact.
      (2)   The Department Director shall take charge immediately of the physical evidence, shall cause notice of the fire to be given to the proper authorities designated by law to pursue the investigation of the matters, and shall cooperate further with the authorities in the collection of evidence and in the prosecution of the case.
   (B)   Every fire shall be reported in writing to the Bureau within two (2) days after the occurrence of it by the officer in charge. The report shall be in the form as shall be prescribed by the Department Director and shall contain a statement of all facts relating to the cause, origin and circumstances of the fire, the extent of the damage thereof, and the insurance upon the property, and other information as may be necessary for the enforcement of the laws and ordinances governing the same and for safeguarding of life and property from fire.
