Any receptacle for use for refuse shall have a tight-fitting cover, be made of metal, plastic or other material; and shall be of a type approved by the Building Official of the Village.
(A) One-, two- and three- family residences– receptacles. Residents receiving scavenger service provided by a Village licensed hauler, shall use receptacles provided by such hauler. Residents requiring additional garbage carts shall obtain and pay for same from the Village's licensed hauler at an additional charge of two dollars and fifty cents ($2.50) per month per cart, or such other amount as, from time to time, may be established by the President and Board of Trustees.
(B) Multi-family dwellings containing four or more units–receptacles and pick-up. Owners of multi-family dwelling buildings containing four or more units shall provide receptacles of sufficient size to accommodate one cubic yard of uncompacted refuse storage for each three dwelling units. Refuse pick-up shall be at least once weekly or as frequently as necessary to prevent overflow of receptacles.
(C) Commercial/industrial–receptacles and pick-up. Commercial and industrial establishments shall provide receptacles of sufficient size and number to prevent overflow of refuse between pick- ups. Refuse pick-up shall be at least once weekly or as frequently as necessary to prevent overflow of receptacles.
(D) Exceptions. The Building Official of the Village may grant exceptions to the strict letter of the container/receptacle requirements upon a showing that:
(1) Strict compliance with the requirements of the provisions of this Section is not reasonably possible; and/or
(2) Refuse is hauled away frequently enough to prevent overflow.
