§ 30.001 VILLAGE ELECTIONS; INAUGURATION ; COMMENCEMENT OF TERMS
   (A)   Elections of Village officers shall be conducted in accordance with the general election law, ILCS Ch. 10, Act 5, §§ 1-1 et seq.
   (B)   An official of the Village may be inaugurated at any time following the proclamation of the results of the regular municipal election at which such official was elected. Inauguration shall be accomplished by taking and subscribing the oath or affirmation required by the Illinois Constitution. The subscribed oath or affirmation shall be filed in the office of the Village Clerk.
   (C)   Following their inauguration, the terms of elected officials of the Village shall commence following the first regular meeting or special meeting, whichever first occurs, of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village in the month of May following the proclamation of the results of the regular municipal election at which such officials were elected.
