The Police Chief shall require every applicant for the certificate required by this subchapter to submit to fingerprinting by the Police Department of the Village and a background check in connection with the application for a certificate. The background check will be good for six (6) months. After six (6) months, should the applicant apply for a certificate, submission to another background check will be required. An applicant for solicitation of charitable contributions on highways shall not be required to submit to a background check.
