§ 120.22 LICENSE REQUIRED.
It shall be unlawful to conduct or operate a motel or hotel in the Village without having first obtained a license therefor and without complying with all of the provisions of this subchapter. This license shall be in addition to any other license required by this Code. The Village Manager/Comptroller may deny, suspend, revoke, or deny an application for renewal of any license issued under the provisions of this subchapter in the manner provided in § 119.015 of this Code, in the event the Village Manager/ Comptroller determines that the applicant/licensee, its agents or employees have violated any Village ordinances, resolutions, or regulations or meets any of the criteria in § 119.015 for denial, suspension, or revocation of a license. The Village Manager/ Comptroller shall also deny issuance of the license to any person who is not of good moral character, and any person who shall have been found guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction of any offense denoting moral turpitude shall, prima facie, be presumed of bad moral character. Such denial, suspension, or revocation, as the case might be, if ordered, shall not preclude prosecution and imposition of any other penalties provided for the violation of other applicable provisions of this chapter or other ordinances of the Village nor the institution of civil proceedings with respect thereto. In lieu of, or in addition to, suspension or revocation of a license, the Village Manager/Comptroller may levy a fine on the licensee. The fine imposed shall not be less than $100 nor exceed $750 for each violation. Each day that a violation continues shall constitute a separate violation.
