Sec. 3-19 Taping and Recording of Meetings.

a. Pursuant to Indiana Code, § 36-5-2-8 the, Clerk-Treasurer of every town shall attend all meetings of the Town Council and shall be the keeper and have custody of the records, books, and papers of the Town Council.
b. The Town Council has determined that it is necessary to further protect the legal interests of the Town of Schererville and its citizens by requiring the Clerk-Treasurer to keep, maintain, and have custody of any and all recorded tapes of public hearings or meetings of the Town of Schererville including, but not limited to:
1. Town Council meetings.
2. Utility Board meetings.
c. Tape or tapes shall be kept by the Clerk-Treasurer for a minimum period of one (1) year from the date of said public meeting or hearing.
