The purpose of this chapter is to protect, maintain, and enhance health, safety and general welfare of the citizens of the village of Scales Mound. After consideration of the volume, speed and character of traffic on the village roadways, the village board has determined that nonhighway vehicles may safely travel on village streets.
Therefore, the intent of this chapter is to regulate the use of nonhighway vehicles within the corporate limits of the village of Scales Mound as authorized by 625 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/11-1426.1, operation of non-highway vehicles on streets, roads and highways.
This chapter does not designate any nonhighway vehicle as an intended or permitted user of any village roadway, county roadway, or township roadway. (Ord. 2012-001, 3-26-2012)
