The commission shall have the general responsibility of maintenance and operation of the Sayre municipal airport and surrounding property within the limits of law regarding receipts of public monies, appropriations and expenditures. The commission shall:
A. Leases For Rental: Negotiate leases for aircraft hanger rental, within the terms and at the rates fixed by the mayor and council;
B. Rental Of Land: Negotiate rental of the farmland and grazing land, with ratification by the council;
C. Improvements: Make recommendations to the mayor and council regarding the need for improvements at the municipal airport;
D. State And Federal Grants: With the ratification of the mayor and council, apply for, receive and administer state and federal grants;
E. Deposit Of Monies: Arrange for the deposit of all monies collected in connection with the operation of the municipal airport to be made with the city clerk; and
F. Other Recommendations: Make such other recommendations as the commission may deem advisable. (1989 Code § 16-305)
