An airport commission is hereby created. It shall consist of five (5) appointive members, all of whom shall be citizens of the city. The five (5) appointive members shall be appointed by the mayor, subject to confirmation by the city council, and shall serve for terms of three (3) years or until their successors take office. Vacancies occurring other than by expiration of the term shall be filled for unexpired terms. The members shall serve without compensation, and a member of the city council shall serve as a member of the airport commission. The council may remove a member of the airport commission only for inefficiency, neglect of duty or malfeasance in office.
