The members of the board to be chosen from the active and retired firemen shall be elected by ballot at elections held on the third Monday in April of each year. Each member of the board so elected shall hold office for a term of three (3) years and until his successor has been duly elected and qualified. Said board shall elect from its number a president and secretary and the city treasurer shall be the ex officio treasurer of the board. (1977 Code)
