9-3-33: LIGHTS:
No bicycle shall be operated within the period from sunset to sunrise without having a properly lighted headlight attached to the front of the bicycle, emitting a white light visible from a distance of at least five hundred feet (500') to the front and with a clear reflex reflector on the front visible to the front, conforming to specifications prescribed by the Illinois department of motor vehicles, and on the rear and visible to the rear with a red reflex reflector, conforming to specifications prescribed by the Illinois department of motor vehicles. A lamp emitting a red light to the rear may also be used. (1977 Code)
