9-1-30: ENGINE BRAKING AND COMPRESSION BRAKING:
   (A)   It shall be unlawful for the operator of any vehicle to use or permit the use within the city of any engine brake, compression brake or mechanical exhaust designed to aid in the braking of the vehicle which creates any noise audible by a person of normal hearing capability at a distance of three hundred feet (300').
   (B)   This section shall not apply to the use of such techniques or devices when necessary to avoid a collision between the vehicle and any other vehicle, person or property.
   (C)   A violation of this section shall be a petty offense for which a fine not to exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) may be imposed. (Ord. 1696, 6-11-2002)
