(A) All applicants permitted hereunder to make any excavation or opening in any public right-of-way within the City shall maintain all such excavations or openings in a safe condition from the time the opening is made until the restoration is completed and approved by the Superintendent of Public Works. The applicant shall be liable and responsible for any and all accidents or damages of any nature occasioned by any such excavation or opening until the restoration is completed and approved by the Superintendent of Public Works.
(B) All repairs shall remain in good repair and condition for a period of one year after the date of completion. In case any defects occur within such period, except those that are deemed not to be the fault of the applicant or his or her agents, the applicant shall be liable for and responsible to repair such defects.
