It shall be unlawful for any person to make any excavation or opening in any public right-of-way within the City without first obtaining a written permit from the Superintendent of Public Works, or his or her assignee. The approved permit shall be kept on the job site until all restoration work has been completed. Work being done without a permit will be issued a stop work order, and subject to penalties until such time as a permit is issued. The permit shall be site specific. In the case of a public utility doing work throughout the City, a separate permit will be required for each individual street and/or location where work is being performed. (Ord. 2210, 10-24-2017)
