(A) Identification Required: All buildings within the city of Savanna, including trailers in a trailer court, shall display identification numbers of not less than four inches (4") in height and clearly visible from the city street.
(B) Size Of Identification: Each of the figures for every street address number shall be not less than four inches (4") in height, plainly marked so as to be easily read and firmly and conspicuously affixed on the front of the building.
(C) Alternate Location: In the event the identifying number cannot be placed on the building so as to be visible from the street, said number may be placed on the mailbox serving said premises. If the mailbox is not located on the same lot or is located in a cluster of mailboxes, the building address number may be placed on a marker forty two inches (42") in height located two feet (2') from the street pavement.
(D) Violation: Any person failing to number their structure or residence after receiving notice to do so from the police department or the public works department shall be subject to a penalty as provided by section 1-4-1 of this code. (Ord. 1783, 2-8-2005)
