6-1-4: FLEEING OR ATTEMPTING TO ELUDE POLICE PROHIBITED:
It shall be unlawful for any driver or operator of a motor vehicle who, having been given a visual or audible signal by a peace officer directing such driver or operator to bring his vehicle to a stop, to wilfully fail or refuse to obey such direction, to increase his speed, to extinguish his lights, or to otherwise flee or attempt to elude the officer. The signal given by the peace officer may be by hand, voice, siren, or red or blue light. Provided, the officer giving such signal shall be in police uniform, and if driving a vehicle, such vehicle shall be marked showing it to be an official police vehicle. (1982 Code § 11-1-14-4)
