(A) No permit shall be revoked for any cause until a public hearing has been held thereon and the permittee has been given five days notice in writing of the time and place of such hearing.
(B) The notice may be given by depositing the same in the United States mail in the city, postage prepaid, directed to the applicant at the address stated in his application or by delivering the same to the permittee personally; provided, however, any permit may be suspended by the Police Chief pending the holding of such public hearing. The Police Chief shall cause a written notice of such temporary suspension to be delivered to the permittee personally or shall deposit a copy of such notice of temporary suspension in the United States mail in the city within 24 hours after the service of same. The action of the Police Chief in such case shall be passed upon by the Council at its next regular meeting at which time the Council may continue the suspension in effect and order a public hearing thereon or dissolve the order.
