The Finance Director, in the exercise of the duties imposed upon him by the provisions of this chapter, and acting through his deputies or duly authorized assistants, shall examine, or cause to be examined, all places of business in the city to ascertain whether the provisions of this chapter have been complied with; provided, however, if an audit is directed pursuant to the provisions of § 110.38 of this subchapter, such audit shall be undertaken within 30 days but at a time and place convenient to the licensee to be audited.
