§ 32.52 DISPOSITION OF UNCLAIMED PROPERTY.
   (A)   Definition. For the purpose of this subchapter, UNCLAIMED PROPERTY shall mean any and all property in possession of the Police Department for which no claim or demand has been made and property for which no owner has been found. ('65 Code, § 2-5.01)
   (B)   Sale; notice. The Police Department is hereby authorized to sell at public auction to the highest bidder all unclaimed property which has been in the possession of the Police Department for a period of more than six months upon notice of such sale, given by the Police Chief at least five days before the time fixed therefor, by publication once in a newspaper of general circulation published in the county.    (C)   Destruction. Any unclaimed property which is not so sold, or which is in so dilapidated or deteriorated condition that it could not be so sold, after being so offered for sale may be summarily destroyed by the Police Department after the public auction sale. ('65 Code, § 2-5.03)
