923.01 PURPOSE AND AUTHORITY.
   (a)   This Chapter is designed to regulate video service providers issued video service authorizations by the Director of Commerce of the State of Ohio, pursuant to Amended Substitute Senate Bill Number 117 of the 127th General Assembly, which amends Section 153.64, enacts Sections 1332.21, 1332.22, 1332.23, 1332.24, 1332.25, 1332.26, 1332.27, 1332.28, 1332.29, 1332.30, 1332.31, 1332.32, 1332.33, and 1332.34, and repeals Sections 505.90, 505.91, and 505.92 of the Revised Code (hereinafter called “Act”), operating within the City.
   (b)   As of September 23, 2007, the State of Ohio has the sole authority to issue video service authorizations under the Act; and pursuant to the Act, the City of Sandusky shall receive a video service provider fee and shall receive a fee for public, educational and government (“PEG”) purposes from all video service providers operating within the City. The Act leaves unchanged the City's authority to regulate the City's current cable franchise which was issued in accordance with the Ordinances of Sandusky, which franchise agreement shall remain in effect until such time as the cable franchisee no longer holds a City franchise, is no longer operating under the current City franchise, or January 1, 2012, whichever is earlier.
