1305.05 FEE FOR WORK COMMENCED PRIOR TO ISSUANCE OF PERMIT.
   (a)   Any permit not applied for in writing before work is in progress shall result in a double permit fee being charged, unless an emergency exists whereby the applicant is not able to secure a permit before commencing the emergency work. In case of an emergency the applicant shall apply for a permit on the next succeeding business day or else the applicant shall be charged a double permit fee.
   (b)   If the permit fee is not paid within five days, the contractor’s registration shall be immediately suspended until such time that the permit fee is paid.
   (c)   Work which is in progress or has been completed prior to obtaining a permit that will not meet the specifications of the Building Code and the Zoning Code is subject to being removed, rejected, altered or redesigned to meet code standards or removed unless a variance is obtained.
