1349.21 AUTHORITY OF ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR FOR REASONABLE ACCESS; RIGHT TO DISCONNECT WIRES; NUISANCES DECLARED.
   (a)   The Electrical Inspector shall have the right during reasonable hours to enter any building in the discharge of his official duties or for the purpose of making inspection, reinspection or testing of the installation of electrical wiring devices and equipment contained therein; and shall have the authority to cut or disconnect any wire in cases of emergency where necessary for safety to life or property, or where wires may interfere with the work or progress of the Fire Department. The Electrical Inspector shall be empowered to disconnect or order discontinuance of electrical service to any electrical wiring, devices or equipment found to be dangerous to life or property because they are defective or defectively installed, until the wiring, devices, equipment and their installation have been made safe and have been approved by the Electrical Inspector.
   (b)   Wherever the existing electrical service wiring, devices or equipment are found by the Electrical Inspector to be detrimental to the health of the occupants of the building or to the public, he shall declare the work to be a nuisance and shall condemn it in accordance with the applicable provisions of this Electrical Code, ordering that the installation be caused to meet the minimum requirements of this Electrical Code or be removed.
