1349.07 APPRENTICE ELECTRICIAN'S LICENSE.
   (a)   An apprentice electrician's license shall authorize the applicant to engage in or work at the electrical trade or occupation within the City as an assistant to and under the direct supervision of a licensed journeyman electrician. A reasonable ratio of apprentice to journeyman/contractor shall be maintained to assure that the apprentice is being properly trained in the electrical trade.
   An apprentice electrician shall not be permitted to lend his license to another individual, nor procure permits in his name or any other individual's name for electrical installations.
   (b)   An apprentice electrician's license shall be granted only to persons who, for not more than five years:
(1)   Are undergoing an apprenticeship or course of training for the purpose of learning the trade or occupation of an electrician;
(2)   Register with the Board of Examiners on forms supplied and state their name and address, together with the name and address of their employer and give notice to the Administrative Authority within five days of any change of address or employer;
(3)   Have been issued a card by the Administrative Authority with "Apprentice" plainly set forth in imposing type, with their name, the name of their employer, the date of issue and the number of years worked as an apprentice;
(4)   Pay a registration fee for each calendar year or part of a calendar year in an amount established by the Director of Engineering Services and approved by the City Commission. A schedule of fees shall be kept on file in the office of the Department of Engineering Services.
