1317.11 SIDEWALK CONTRACTORS.
   (a)   Registration Fee; Bond. Any person, firm or corporation desiring to engage in or work at the trade or occupation of constructing, laying or re-laying sidewalks or curbs within the City shall comply with the following provisions:
(1)   Pay an annual registration fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00).
(2)   Give a bond and provide public liability insurance as provided for and in accordance with the provisions of Section 1317.09, which bond and evidence of public liability insurance shall be approved as to form by the City Law Director and placed on file in the City Manager’s office.
(3)   The applicant shall provide a surety bond and indemnification of the City in accordance with the provisions of Section 1317.09 and any additional assurances that the City Manager requires of the applicant to assure the City that the licensee shall comply with the applicable requirements as required by the City Engineer.
   (b)   Defects in Work; Procedure. Should any disintegration or other defects appear in any walks laid or curbs set within 3 years from the beginning of the guarantee period, the person, firm or corporation shall immediately upon notice from the City Manager or his duly authorized agent, repair and replace in good condition such defective walks and curbs as may be brought to his attention. If the person, firm or corporation shall fail to lay or re-lay such walks or make such repairs to walks or curbs within 10 days after the serving of the notice, the City Manager, without further notice, may proceed to make the repairs or cause the same to be done either by contract or otherwise at his option, and he shall authorize the cost of repairing, laying or re-laying the walks or curbs to be deducted from and charged against the bond and cash deposit herein provided.
