As used in this chapter:
(a) "City" means the City of Sandusky, Ohio.
(b) "Superintendent" means the Superintendent of Forestry of the City or his or her designee.
(c) "Tree lawn" means the parcel or area of land located between the curb and a sidewalk or the City right of way where no sidewalk exists.
(d) "Public way" means any public street, road, boulevard, alley or sidewalk.
(e) "Public area" means any public way, park, or other land owned, leased, or controlled by the City.
(f) “Maintenance" and "protection" include all operations of trimming, pruning, spraying, injecting, fertilizing, treating, bracing, doing survey work and cutting above or below the ground.
(g) "Street tree" or "tree" means a tree or shrub in a public place, public area, or public way, except where otherwise indicated.
