Inspectors shall be notified by the persons doing the work when the same is ready for inspection. All work, and the trench in which the same is laid, shall be kept open, free and clear so that all the work is accessible at the time of inspection. The City Engineer shall keep a record of the location of the tap, type of construction (as to material and joints), or any unusual condition encountered on all work inspected by him.
