It is unlawful to mar, injure, deface, destroy or place or cause to be placed any advertising device or representation of any kind or nature upon any fence, tree, guide posts or boards, sign boards, awnings, lamp posts, lamp or lanterns, street signs, telephone poles or electric poles upon or along any street, road, avenue, lane, alley, square or other public place in the city.
