(A) Definition. For purposes of this section, a DEAD BOLT LOCK means a locking bolt that, when in the locked position, can only be moved positively by turning a knob, key, sliding bolt or mechanism activated by working a combination. The term does not include a lock bolt moved by a skeleton-type key.

(B) Dead bolt lock required. Multiple dwellings, hotels, motels and apartment hotels must provide dead bolt locks on all entrance doors of each dwelling unit, at least one that must be capable of being locked from the exterior.

(C) Responsibility for security. The owner, operator or agent of buildings covered by this section is responsible for compliance with this section.
