(a) No person shall skateboard or skate, or otherwise be present within any skateboard/skating area or facility, at times other than those established by the Director of Regional Parks or his or her designee as the hours of operation. Hours of operation shall be posted. The hours are subject to change without prior notice
(b) No person shall use any skateboard/skating area or facility for any use other than skateboarding and skating. No skateboarding or skating is permitted on fences, steps or walkways or any other areas not specifically designed for such use.
(c) Each person using any skateboard/skating area or facility must wear proper safety equipment including a helmet, elbow pads and kneepads. All such safety equipment must be functional and protective, properly sized and designed for skateboarding or skating purposes.
(d) No person shall ride, use, or bring into the fenced skateboard/skating area or facility any wheeled device other than roller skates, in-line skates, or skateboards. Use of any other wheeled device including, but not limited to, bicycles, scooters, unicycles, go-carts or wagons is prohibited.
(e) No person shall possess or use alcohol, drugs or tobacco products within a skateboard/skating area or facility.
(f) No person shall litter or discard any materials in any skateboard/skating area or facility. Each person using the skateboard/skating area or facility must place any trash created at or brought to the skateboard/skating area or facility in refuse containers provided by the County. If the County provides no refuse container, each person shall be responsible for removing such trash from the skateboard/skating area or facility and disposing of such trash in an appropriate manner.
(g) No person shall cause graffiti, tagging or the attachment of any stickers or unauthorized signs in or upon any part of a skateboard/skating area or facility or anywhere in the surrounding park area or facility.
(h) No person shall ride or permit to be ridden, any skateboard or skates in a skateboard/skating area or facility in a reckless manner or with willful disregard for the safety of persons or property.
(i) Glass containers and other glass products are prohibited within the skateboard/skating area or facility.
(j) No ramps, jumps or other obstacles may be brought into, nor may such ramps, jumps or obstacles be used at, any skateboard/skating area or facility, except for any such ramps, jumps or obstacles specifically built into the skateboard/skating area or facility by the County or its operator.
(k) The skateboard/skating area or facility shall not be used if any hazardous condition exists, including but not limited to inclement weather, significant cracks, breaks or other visible irregularities in the skating surface of the skateboard/skating area or facility.
(l) Personal stereos and boom box radios are prohibited within any skateboard/skating area or facility.
(m) No animals are allowed in any skateboard/skating area or facility.
(n) All organized events must have the prior written approval of the Director of Regional Parks or his or her designee.
(o) The County is not responsible for any items that are lost or stolen within any skateboard/skating area or facility.
(p) Any person suffering an injury within a skateboard/skating area or facility must promptly report the injury to the County of San Bernardino Regional Parks Department and/or designated operator.
(q) Any person violating any of the provisions of this Section may be required to leave the skateboard/skating area or facility for a period of 48 hours by any County employee or police officer. Failing to leave, or returning within 48 hours, shall be a violation punishable as an infraction. Any person who in the course of any calendar year has been required to leave any skateboard/skating area or facility pursuant to this Subdivision for a total of three or more times, shall be denied entry to and use of any skateboarding/skating area or facility for the following 12 months. Enforcement of this Subdivision shall not limit the enforcement of any other applicable laws relative to the specific act which gives rise to a violation of any provision of this Section.
