§ 12.3901   Office of County Safety and Security Established.
   There is hereby created and established an Office of County Safety and Security of the County of San Bernardino.

   The Director of County Safety and Security shall be a County officer in the Unclassified Service and shall be responsible and have authority for the Office of County Safety and Security.

§ 12.3903   Appointment of the Director of County Safety and Security.
   The appointment of the Director of County Safety and Security shall be made by the County Administrative Officer.

§ 12.3904   Responsibilities of the Director of County Safety and Security.
   The Director of County Safety and Security shall be responsible for coordinating the administrative activities of, and for establishing and implementing administrative policy and procedures for the Office of County Safety and Security.

§ 12.3905   Authority of the Director of County Safety and Security.
   (a)   The Director of County Safety and Security shall be the appointing authority over those employees within the Office of County Safety and Security whose appointment is not otherwise provided for by charter or general law. The Director of County Safety and Security shall have the power to delegate in writing this appointing authority.
   (b)   The Director of County Safety and Security shall have the power of general administrative supervision and coordination over the operations within the Office of County Safety and Security. The Director of County Safety and Security may direct such actions as he or she deems appropriate to exercise any power or jurisdiction or to assume or discharge any responsibility vested in him or her by this Chapter.
   (c)   Subject to the general direction of the County Administrative Officer, the Director of County Safety and Security shall be responsible for the preparation and compilation of the annual budget of the Office of County Safety and Security and shall be responsible for its administration after adoption.
