The Director of Transportation who is ex officio Road Commissioner for the County of San Bernardino may designate as peace officers, any work crew supervisors of the Road Operations Division, Department of Transportation, Public Works Agency whose duties include the guarding of prisoners. A list of the work crew supervisors to be given the powers of peace officers shall be submitted by the Director of Transportation to the Sheriff’s Office and the Personnel Office. The status of said peace officers shall continue until written notice is given to the Sheriff’s Office and the Personnel Office that their status has been revoked or until their employment as work crew supervisors terminates. The Board of Supervisors may, by resolution, promulgate rules and regulations regarding the uniform, equipment and weapons used by said peace officers.
