§ 3.05.050 ESTABLISHMENT; COMPOSITION; COMPENSATION.
   (A)   There is hereby established a planning commission for San Benito County. The Planning Commission shall consist of five members who shall be appointed by the Board of Supervisors, one for each Supervisorial District. For any appointments after July 1, 2011, the Planning Commissioner shall reside, when appointed and during the term of the appointment, in the supervisorial district of the nominating supervisor. The appointment of each Commissioner shall be recommended by the respective supervisor from that District who shall place the name of his or her candidate in nomination. The appointment must be confirmed by a majority vote of the Board of Supervisors.
   (B)   All present members of the Planning Commission shall be entitled to serve until the end of their respective terms. Thereafter, the term of office of each Commissioner shall be coterminous with that of the duly elected supervisor by whom the Commissioner is nominated for appointment. If a vacancy occurs on the Planning Commission other than by expiration of term, it shall be filled in a manner consistent with this section by appointment for the unexpired portion of the prior Commissioner’s term.
   (C)   The Planning Commission shall elect a chairperson and a vice-chairperson from among its members to serve for a term of one year and may elect other officials and representatives as the Commission deems necessary.
   (D)   The members of the Planning Commission may be compensated in a sum to be fixed by the Board of Supervisors.
